Broadband for operational teams
PoC and LTE: voice, video, data and location over IP
PoC brings push-to-talk to mobile networks and WLAN. Deployable LTE creates or reinforces connectivity at the mission site. They are different solutions and can form part of the same architecture when coverage, priority and continuity are properly planned.
- PoCPTT communication over a mobile network or WLAN.
- MultimediaVoice, video, data and location, depending on the platform.
- On-demand networkTransportable, vehicle-mounted or aerial LTE in specific projects.

Distinguish service and infrastructure
PoC uses connectivity. Deployable LTE provides connectivity.
Push-to-Talk over Cellular It is an instant communication application that uses IP broadband, usually a commercial mobile network or WLAN. It can connect smartphones, PoC radios, multimode devices and, depending on the platform, body-worn cameras.
Deployable LTE infrastructure is the network brought to the site: transportable, vehicle-mounted or aerial solutions can create coverage, add capacity or support continuity when the available network does not meet the requirement.
Which network reaches the user?
Carrier, WLAN, private network or temporary infrastructure must be checked at the location and time of use.
What travels over this network?
PTT, video, messages, telemetry, location and evidence have different bandwidth, latency and priority profiles.
What happens if the network goes down?
Coverage alternatives, multiple access methods, degraded operation and procedures must be defined.
Hytera platforms
HyTalk and HALO PTX at different operational levels
The portfolio separates enterprise PoC communication, convergence with professional networks and mission-critical multimedia services.
Hytera HyTalkA family for PoC, convergence and MCX
The versions serve different purposes and should not be treated as the same product.
- HyTalkEnterprise PoC with PTT, location, video, recording and map-based dispatch.
- HyTalk ProConvergence between PMR and broadband, with voice, video, data and location.
- HyTalk MCMission-critical communication based on 3GPP MCX standards: MCPTT, MCVideo and MCData.
Hytera HALO PTXManaged service over mobile networks
HALO PTX brings instant communication and device administration together in a service offering. Packages and features vary according to the terminal, plan and contracted modules.
- CommunicationPTT calls and collaboration on compatible terminals.
- VisibilityLocation and dispatch according to package and permissions.
- AdministrationConfiguration, applications, policies and remote management of compatible devices.
- ExpansionDispatch and patrol modules can form part of the solution.
Motorola Solutions
LTE infrastructure where coverage and capacity need to reach
The official portfolio includes portable, vehicle-mounted and aerial alternatives. Their role is to create or reinforce broadband in an operational area.

On-demand connectivity
Portable, vehicle-mounted or aerial, according to the mission
Motorola Solutions describes infrastructure for portable, semi-permanent or fixed deployments, as well as wheeled options and aerial platforms. The scope can provide voice, video, data and chat services, with centralized management and a high-availability design.
- Additional capacity in congested areas
- Temporary or contingency coverage
- Remote operations and special events
- SOW, COW and aerial platform options
- Integration with existing applications and networks
- Configuration, performance and alarms monitored
The complete path
From the PTT button to the operations center
The user experience depends on every layer. A good application cannot compensate for unstable coverage, an unsuitable device or dispatch without a process.
Device
Smartphone, PoC radio, multimode terminal or camera compatible with the service.
Access
4G/5G, WLAN, a private network or temporary on-site LTE infrastructure.
Platform
Identity, groups, PTT, video, data, location, recording and policies.
Coordination
Dispatch, map, alerts, recording and integration with the existing operation.
PoC does not automatically inherit the characteristics of a dedicated LMR network. Priority, availability, latency, security, coverage and contingency must be confirmed for the connectivity in use.
Decision matrix
Which path solves the operation's constraint?
The starting point is the problem: connecting dispersed teams, unifying technologies or bringing a network to a location without sufficient coverage.
| Requirement | Path to evaluate | Critical dependencies |
|---|---|---|
| Teams distributed across areas with broadband availability | Enterprise PoC, such as HyTalk or HALO PTX, depending on scope. | Network coverage, data plan, terminals, licenses and dispatch. |
| Connect PMR and broadband users | A convergence platform, such as HyTalk Pro, with compatible interfaces. | Gateways, supported networks, group plan, latency and security. |
| Mission-critical multimedia communication | An MCX architecture, such as HyTalk MC, after requirements analysis. | Network, priority, high availability, certified terminals and governance. |
| Temporary on-site coverage or capacity | Deployable LTE infrastructure, portable, vehicle-mounted or aerial. | Spectrum, backhaul, power, licensing, installation and network operation. |
Frequently asked questions
Questions about PoC and LTE
Does PoC automatically replace a DMR or TETRA radio network?
No. PoC uses mobile IP networks or WLAN and can complement or converge with PMR. Carrier coverage, priority, latency, availability and operational policy must be evaluated.
Are HyTalk, HyTalk Pro and HyTalk MC the same platform?
They serve different purposes: enterprise PoC, PMR and broadband convergence, and mission-critical communication based on 3GPP MCX standards.
What changes with deployable LTE infrastructure?
The organization can create or expand on-site coverage and capacity with transportable, vehicle-mounted or aerial solutions, according to the project and regulatory conditions.
