Hytera

HyTalk, HyTalk Pro and HyTalk MC

The HyTalk family serves different broadband communication needs. PoC for distributed teams, convergence with radio networks and mission-critical services do not share the same architecture. Selection starts with the available network and the level of continuity required.

What this solution does

HyTalk: cellular PTT

Voice, video, data, location and dispatch over a mobile network or WLAN. The platform supports cloud, on-premises or industrial computer deployment, according to the contracted solution.

HyTalk Pro: PMR and broadband

Convergence between narrowband radio and LTE, with mixed groups, dynamic regrouping and multimedia dispatch. It is not an automatic connection between any radio and a mobile phone.

HyTalk MC: MCX services

MCPTT, MCVideo and MCData services aligned with 3GPP for mission-critical architectures. Priority and quality of service also depend on the network infrastructure.

HyTalk Pro: identity, mixed groups and talk control

In the Pro architecture, Hytera describes the use of the same identifier when the terminal registers on the narrowband or broadband network. Mixed groups bring together users of both networks; dynamic regrouping allows a team to be formed for a specific need. This requires integration, not simply installing an application on a phone.

  • Talk control: the platform supports requests, grants, queuing, preemption and notification of the right to transmit; priorities must reflect the operational hierarchy.
  • Multimedia dispatch: the client can start voice or video from the map; broadband terminals can send photos and video to the designated dispatch station.
  • ABC validation: test identity, group participation and communication on both sides of the integration. Do not assume video transmission from a DMR voice terminal.

HyTalk MC: distinguish application, connectivity and priority

HyTalk MC is presented for public or private LTE and 5G networks, with management of mobility, calls, resources and user data. Reference to 3GPP standards does not automatically turn an ordinary cellular connection into a network with mission-critical priority.

  • Application and terminal: confirm the HyTalk MC version, compatible devices and the voice, video and data services actually contracted.
  • Network and continuity: document how coverage, priority and quality of service will be provided, including behavior during a lost connection.
  • Protection: the manufacturer states support for AES256 and an end-to-end hardware encryption option. The algorithm, terminals, keys and configuration must be confirmed in the project, without promising activation by default.

Where to assess the application

  • ABC project: connect external teams and branches through voice groups, keeping the control center informed of movements.
  • ABC project: study convergence to preserve an existing PMR network and include broadband users.

What must be confirmed in the project

  • Measure carrier or Wi-Fi network coverage, latency and availability at work locations.
  • Validate terminals, the application, licenses and gateways; distinguish a PoC service from deployment of a private LTE network.
  • Define user administration, recording, redundancy and operation during lost connectivity in the ABC proposal.
