Hytera XPT (Extended Pseudo Trunking) shares available channels to expand the capacity of a compatible DMR network. Historical documentation presents the RD986S; the RD986/RD986S VHF and UHF1 variants have been discontinued in Brazil. This does not mean that the entire XPT solution has been discontinued.
XPT complements compatible Hytera radios for voice and data operations. For an existing installation or a new project, confirm models, versions, firmware, licenses and availability; performance and call delivery depend on coverage and system load.
Optimize Channel Use
XPT does not use a dedicated control channel. The infrastructure automatically manages and assigns free channels to calls, according to the available configuration and capacity. Radio and repeater compatibility must be checked.
MIGRATION OF COMPATIBLE EQUIPMENT
Some compatible Hytera DMR radios and repeaters can be reused with appropriate firmware and licenses. Reuse depends on the model and version; traffic growth may require additional repeaters or other components. For legacy RD986S equipment, check availability and support.
MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS
In addition to voice services such as group calls and emergency calls, XPT includes all the important professional mobile radio features that are part of a powerful digital mobile radio system.
EXPANSION AND IP NETWORK
XPT-compatible repeaters interconnect over an IP network. The architecture does not require a dedicated central controller, but the complete infrastructure - network, antennas, power, frequencies and licenses - must be sized. Expansion may require new repeaters and depends on version limits and availability.
